 About Us...

We are Allie and Nicky (you can use she/her for us both) - Whistler elopement photographers, besties and wine drinking cheerleaders for each other since we met in 2013 whilst working for a large photography company.

Although we’re both originally from different parts of England, we have made the mountains of Whistler our home. We have each travelled to so many absolutely incredible destinations around the world (mainly seeking out different cultures and amazing food!) and it helped us realise we’d found the right place to call home when we found it.

After arriving in Whistler we fell in love with the active mountain lifestyle, the stunning backdrops and the never ending list of places to explore right on our doorstep. It’s the perfect base for so many adventures and even through we continue to explore in different countries; we now love to return as much as we love to wander.

Something you need to know...

We are not models … and we don’t expect you to be either!

Take look at us in that photo over there; being completely honest we have both struggled with being in front of the camera despite our love for being behind it. We know that having your photo taken can feel intimidating, so please don’t worry because we totally understand where you’re coming from!

However, we do believe there is an innate beauty in everything you guys are together (including all of your imperfections!) and we hope to help you see that, just as we’ve learnt to see it in ourselves. We find so much joy in all that is messy and imperfect and real about love. You do not need to be a model in order to have beautiful pictures of your wedding or elopement; just the general gorgeousness that comes from having a good time with your person.

Nobody is perfect, but you are perfect for each other; let’s celebrate that!

Adventure Engagement photography Testimonial

You shared your experience, your local knowledge, your awesome ideas, and (most importantly to me) some encouragement when it was needed.

It felt as if you were one of our close friends just enjoying the day with us. Thank you the from the bottom of my heart, you helped me accomplish giving my fiancee a memory that will stay with her forever, just as it will with me.

Why we work together

  1. We have a damn good time together

We love how that can help break the ice and relax the vibe and make you guys feel more comfortable. We hope you have a damn good time with us too!

  2. Different perspectives

Working together means we can look at events from alternative angles. When once in a lifetime moments are happening quickly and passing too soon we love being able to document them from two different perspectives. Or when we’re out in a gorgeous location and one of us can be up close and personal and hang out with you guys whilst the other gallops off to a far way dock or rock formation to capture you as part of the stunning landscape.

  3. Shared Values

When we say we believe in love in all it’s forms, we mean it. We think the connection between two humans is so incredibly special and we both are passionate about spending time in nature and working with people who feel the same way. We love helping empower people to feel good and beautiful in their skin.

  4. Bounce-off each other creatively

We love being able to play with different ideas, keep things fresh and interesting, to learn and build off our different life experiences. That bouncing back and forth of creativity is why having a partner rocks for us and for you too!

Why we do what we do...

We choose to be Whistler elopement photographers because helping you capture a day that is intimate and authentic to who you are as a couple is our #1 priority.

Why? Because this means that you will feel comfortable and relaxed and less stressed … and that means genuinely stunning and emotive photos. The type of photos that we are passionate about taking and giving to you, so you can feel happy to share them for a lifetime.

From mountain top vows to valley lakeside ceremonies. From camping elopements with your best friends around a campfire to beautiful winter weddings all snuggled up in the snow. From creative and fabulous adventures with just the two of you to raucous and warm parties in stylish spaces with your nearest and dearest.

Whatever feels like the right kind of intimate experience to say ‘I Do!’ we want to be there to capture and document every valuable moment for you.

Our Approach...

We take a natural documentary style approach as photographers for whistler elopements, weddings and adventure sessions. We will guide you through the whole process with location scouting, vendor recommendations and unlimited support. Together we can help you create and capture the wedding, elopement or adventure experience of a lifetime, be it in Whistler, the Sea to Sky, BC or worldwide.

Let’s face it, the best photographs come from allowing you to be you, having fun, exploring and playing. No set poses, no forced shots. Simply two good friends creating a laid-back and comfortable space for you both to be yourselves and have a good time. If that involves dork dancing, dogs or a beer from a local brewery … then we are especially IN!

Ultimately, we care about how you feel, kindness is key and we want to empower you to feel good in your skin.

Why Choose a

Whistler Elopement Photographer?

With us being the type of people to choose to leave our quiet, comfortable life in England to live in a temperate rainforest, on a coastal mountain range, in Canada …there are some things that make us pretty awesome to have in your corner!

  1. Comfortable no matter the weather

We have shot through some crazy weather conditions … snow, rain, wildfire smoke and crazy heat; and still been able to create beautiful images.

  2. We love new experiences and trying new activities

Throughout our travels and time in Whistler we have accomplished some amazing things (and even got pretty good at a few!). From skiing to biking, hiking or horse riding and even bungee jumping! That means we are in an awesome position to suggest things for you to do as part of your wedding, elopement or adventure session, for your wedding party to try, or to research if your celebration is in a new destination.

  3. Unflappable and prepared in various terrain

Whether it’s snow capped mountain peak or a shady forest or a sun drenched lake side beach, we’ve got this covered. We even hold our own in Downtown Vancouver when called for ;) Things don’t always go to plan .. and that’s OK! We are your new favourite support system.

  4. Secret spot, local knowledge

We love exploring at home and abroad. Here in the Sea To Sky there are some very well known locations and even more special places off the beaten track. It’s never just a case of straight up the gondola, let’s avoid the crowds and go to the lesser known local secret spots

  5. Warm hearted, down to earth and realistic

Your experience is important to us, that means figuring out what is best for you. Creating a time line that isn’t rushed or manic but leaves space to enjoy each other and where you are.

We had the best experience working with Ink Photography! Not only are they so warm and welcoming, they are able to find magic in the little, in between moments and capture them so beautifully.

She was also so great at connecting my partner and I before the photoshoot began which is why I say she is so much more than a photographer. Having great memories of our elopement was important to my partner and I and Ink Photography went above & beyond.

Our pictures are absolutely stunning and we will cherish them forever. I honestly can’t recommend Ink Photography enough.

You talk about elopements throughout your website, What is your definition of an Elopement?

Let’s start with what it’s NOT; it is not something shameful. It’s not running away or something quick and dirty. The word has had negative connotations for a long time and we are passionate about busting straight through all that sh*t. The people that bandied about the ‘shoulds’ are quite often the same people that think an elopement isn’t a ‘real’ wedding. Ugh!

An elopement is a meaningful experience created by a couple, vows said in a way that is true to who they are as a unit and the types of adventures they love to share. Sometimes it’s just 2 people, sometimes there are a few super important friends or family members there with them. It’s what you want to make it, what makes you feel most connected to each other. It’s a way of getting married that is slower, relaxed and intentional. It’s creating a story to tell.

Do you work with and are supportive of the rights of BIPOC & LGBTQ+ couples and families?

YES! Absolutely no exceptions, we are 100% here to celebrate with you!

I’m scared I’m going to feel super awkward. What if I normally hate having my photo taken?

We feel you! We’re not always super comfortable in front of the camera either, but because we understand, that helps us to help you. Our primary aim is for you to have a good time, if you’re relaxed and having fun then good photos come organically.

Why are you called ‘Ink’ Photography?

Haha! Well it took us a while to get here! We were playing around with our names, favourite drinks and love for natural elements and exploring the outdoors; but ultimately we wanted something short, snappy and that spoke to what photography really boils down to for you, our clients and friends. Ink is permanent, photographs are physical memories that last a lifetime. What type memories do you want to create?
